The New Hampshire Film Festival is next week.  Here's a trailer for the festival.

You can catch a couple snippets of Chicken Cowboy in there.  And some skateboarding doc that looks cool.

here's the full CC trailer. . . uh. . . again. . .

Hope you're not too sick of the trailer. I should just upload the whole short. Hard to believe it's been almost half a year since I finished it.

Don't worry, new short(s) are coming someday.

Here's a doodle of Beck, cause the beck concert was awesome.

When I grow up, I want my very own massive hanging quilt of grid lights too.

first figure drawings in awhile. it's feeling rusty these days.

Richard Williams came to blue sky yesterday. inspiring stuff. He would sum up entire sections of his life in sentences like, "so then I took 6 years off to concentrate on figure drawing." And, "It was great painting in spain, I could paint one university professor's portrait a year and live sleeping on the beach." I wish it could have been more of a demo/retrospective like he had at MoMA, but his advice on self-censorship and dealing with clients was great.

But I think that's another post.

chicken cowboy's going to st louis!

I always figured chicken cowboy was from the midwest. That's why he's so mild-mannered.

Lots of projects and stuff and moving in the next couple weeks. Expect another micro-short in a fortnight, this time only slightly chicken-related.

Hi everyone. It's crunch time. Here are some doodles.

Also, I thought I would start posting some doodles from the tiny sketchbook project.
So here goes. First I'll post the drawing actual size, then post it blown up. The first one's by me:

Here's a page by Andrew Coats.

And a page by Moroni. (one of my favorites).

Oh yeah, some more chicken cowboy news--Chicken Cowboy will be screening at the Austin Film Festival starting on October 16th!

If anybody in Wildwood NJ finds my glasses in a water slide or on a beach, please send them my way.

and some dr breakfast.

I've been wanting to work on some sort of collaborative extra-curricular project for a long time now--there are more graphic novel collections and art books from studio employees than there ever these days. It left me thinking, "where to start?"

The answer: start small! So here it is. THE TINY SKETCHBOOK PROJECT

Yup. That's it. Purchased from a doll house furniture store, the book is about 20 pages and a little larger than a thumbnail. I've been passing it around here at blue sky. People do tiny sketches in the tiny sketchbook. Like this one by Rafael:

It's sort of like sketchtravel, but on a much smaller scale. And none of that, "auction it off for charity" stuff, because it wouldn't fetch all that much at auction. So I'll be scanning some of the drawings that people have done so far. In fact, the thing's already full. So perhaps this will be a continuing project.

Did anybody see all those tibetan protesters in grand central at 6pm on friday? I did.

was reading some good old raymond chandler on the train. Made me want to be a detective.

There are so many wrinkles in the face of tommy lee jones. it's mesmerizing. like his eyes are set in a series of 50 successively smaller eye sockets.

When I find my camera cord, I will post pictures of yesterday's great gingerbread house disaster. How could I have known they were so difficult to construct?
