a scribble I painted on the back of tisch's commencement program.

I found out last week that shark suit won a marion carter green grant from the national board of review of motion pictures. It's enough encouragement for me to get rolling on my next project.

About 10 days ago someone uploaded a copy of shark suit onto yahoo. I'm not really sure why they had a copy or why they uploaded it, but somehow it got 42,000 views. So I decided to start uploading shark suit myself, since I guess people will watch it.

first off, good ol' youtube:

If you'd like to watch in HD, check out shark suit on vimeo:

Great news! Shark Suit: the Musical will be screening this Sunday at the ASIFA East festival!

I'm really looking forward to having my work screened in front of the community I've learned to love and become a part of these past 4 years since moving to New York. It's a huge honor. Plus, there will be free cookies (and other fancy refreshments). And last year nickelodeon gave out frisbees!

It's all FREE. This Sunday at 6pm at New School. Don't even come to see my film, come to see the other awesome films! Like Tim's.

Shark Suit also won Best Animation this past week at the Rincon International Film Festival in Puerto Rico. Believe me, I wish I could have made it to that one...

Also, Shark Suit is screening tonight at 9pm at Cantor Film Center on 8th Street. It picked up two awards this year in NYU's First Run Film Festival. One for Achievement in Animation and another award for original score. Props to my music people, Christopher Han and my sis Christin Neary.

the reward for reading through all that boring news is this cartoon! nice and upbeat!

Hi everyone. Here's some more shark suit news.

Shark Suit: the Musical won 1st in animation at the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences Foundation's College TV Awards. It also won the Ruckus Pick award. Best of all, it was a good party. And I saw some really remarkable student films.

Here's my favorite pic of the night:

It all made me excited to finally finish Chicken Cowboy. I've been rendering away on most shots. I also got a grant a couple weeks ago, which means I can finally budget in some good sound. Spent a lot of time today in the foley room, breaking glass.

Fun stuff.

Little Guys™ is on DVD! It's a short from my pal David Pagano animated with legos. Lots of legos. There's cool stuff and an faq up on his website now, and I think you'll be able to order it soon.

Hi everyone. If you missed the symphony performance of "Bigfoot's Eulogy," here's what it looked like (minus the blur).

It sounded great! Congrats to composer Jaebon Hwang and to conductor Guerguan Tsenov. They had their work cut out for them and the show was amazing.

It other news . . . rough animation on Chicken Cowboy is done! The year is flying by so quickly it makes me want to cry:

Next up are some heavy animation revisions and post work. And lots of rendering.

It's sort of intereting to see what's changed from the initial concept drawings. These were done about a year and a half ago. Chicken Cowboy is a little slimmer and slightly streamlined. But I think I've stuck to my initial ideas and story concepts, who this guy is and how he changes.

I have some exciting news about Shark Suit. But I'll wait. Don't want to use up all my blogging ammo.

Don't worry, "chicken Cowboy" won't be in 3d. But I made this poor sap for stand in and pre visualization purposes on some of the more complicated shots. So he doesn't need to be too beautiful or move with the grace of an olympic ice skater.

I'd like to make a more complicated rig later for some animation tests. Making this guy has been more fun than I thought it would be.

Shark Suit won 2nd place in Collegiate Animation at the Ft. Lauderdale Film Int'l Film Festival. Thanks!

If you're wondering, that in the poster lego guy is from an awesome film in the showcase by david pagano (www.paganomation.com). Cause he's my pal, he also did a Little Guys Shark Suit figure. I hold it dear to my heart.
